The Writing Process Beautiful Books #2

Second beautiful books! If you don't already know Beautiful Books is a link up hosted by Paper Fury for NaNo novels. Now that we all know what it is let's begin!

Is the book turning out how you thought it would be, or is it defying your expectations Well...yes and no. So far what I have written is very much what I had planned. However I have been developing a lot of plot points that I didn't have when I begun.

What’s your first sentence (or paragraph)? "A slender woman sat at the window of a palace hidden in the northern forests of Beilin. Mareilla's long black hair draped over her small figure, in one hand she held an embroidery hoop; fitted with a white quilt square, in the other a needle. Stacks of thread spools were piled on a table to her left. A nearly finished quilt was draped over the chair beside her, it only need three more squares."

Are you a plotter or a pantser? Well for the beginning and end I'm a plotter but for the middle I'm mainly a pantser.

Have you ever tried both methods and how did it turn out? Well I have, for me plotting is much better as tend to take a while to destroy writers block, so it always a good idea for me to plan ahead.

What do you reward yourself with after meeting a goal? Nothing really, for me the act of writing is the true reward, {I like to tell myself that at least, in truth...} sometimes I'll reward myself with that book I've been eyeing {*cough cough* Winter}

What do you look for in a name? Do you have themes? Where do you find your names? Quirkiness, hey I've named a character after a time period {Regency}, after a metal {Silver}, and after renegade the word that means deserter {Renagade} without meaning to of course. Odd enough she's the victim in my story.... soooo.....

I wish I could say I had a theme but it's all random, however I guess I was guided by my eternal love for unusual names, all my character have quite interesting words representing them. The names often time come across me in my daily life, I like them and so I record them, and sometimes I use them.

What is your favorite to write: beginning, middle, or end — and why? I love endings, I dunno why. I've never written one but I always look forward to one. {Pray that I'll reach one one-day, as I have a tendency to abandon novels}

Who’s your current favorite character in your novel? Silver, but in all fairness she's the only one I've really fleshed out so I'm more than a little biased.

What kind of things have you researched for this project, and how do you go about
researching? (What’s the weirdest thing you’ve researched?!) Ummmm.... I researched the difference between strangling someone and choking someone....

Do you write better alone or with others? Do you share your work or prefer to keep it to yourself? Definitely alone, when it comes to writing I have to do it by myself, though I prefer to share my work, feedback is always something I value.

What are your writing habits? Is there a specific snack you eat? Do you listen to music? What time of day do you write best? Feel free to show us a picture of your writing space. I'm honestly not much of an eater while writing, and I've tried listening to music but it normally it just distracts. Also I write all the time no specific time period. I don't know if any other writers are like this but for me I have to type my stories, I just can't get them out right with paper and pencil.
